Hey! Where's My Tatt??

Hello everyone out there in the blog universe! Take a look at this picture here and tell me what you think of it. Question: What comes to mind? Twenty or thirty years ago, how many people do you think had tattoos back then> Not even twenty years ago, lets go with ten, how many do you think? well whatever you come up with as an answer, im pretty sure it wont be as many as the amount of people that have them now. Tattoos are becoming a cultural norm amonsgt are society today, What was once a rare marking of ink on people, has started to become an ever growing trend in our world. They are becoming more popular and are given less of a rare look when people see them because everyone is getting them and are becoming familiar with being seen. I personally started noticing tattoos in the early 200's. i remember my older cousin getting one right before he graduated high school in 02. what started out as one soon became many in the years to come. By 2011, he now has 10 more additions of ink on his body withs his back completley covered. They are recieving less criticism, because the mojority of the generation is getting them. The yopunger society isnt the only generation following this trend. Many people in thier 30's well into thier for 40's and even beyond hav tatts and are still going to get more. THe middle to upper wealthy class usually dont sport the ink, im assuming because of the certain level of class it might take away from you. But many rappers bad guy/girl, rebels and more commonly atheletes rock these. The minority in this case is starting to become the majority in the case of the tattoos but how long do you think it will take before half of america has one?

  1. Tattoos have really seemed to explode in popularity over the past five to ten years. I agree that it seemed as if only certain people went out to get tattoos, but now several people have talked about wanting one or have actually gotten one. Years ago, tattoos seemed to be a means of expression. They marked what tribe you belonged to or reflected religious beliefs. Even in more modern times people have gotten tattoos that show they belong to certain groups or that display very meaningful things. People used their bodies to showcase such 'artwork.' Nowadays, tattooing has seemed to turn into a fad. While some do get very meaningful tattoos, it seems as if getting a tattoo is the stamp of the decade. Some people have jumped onto this bandwagon without really thinking how they will feel about it ten, twenty years into the future.
