I’ll admit it. I’m a huge gleek. So when the epic season finale of season 2 was on I was on the edge of my seat because I was so excited. The moment came when Rachel and Finn were singing “Pretending” one of their original songs. I was always a fan of them being together so this was my favorite moment in the episode. They were doing such a good job putting their emotions and heart into the song and then the moment happened: the point in the song when they kissed. They looked into each other’s eyes and then embraced one another. They leaned in and the whole television set went silent as the camera turned around them. It made the kiss so much more dramatic, which I loved! It was as if I was there and in shock after their decision to show their love for one another. They chose their self over the group they were singing for- The New Directions. They were singing so they had a chance at nationals, but instead they took the selfish route and decided to tell the one they loved that they truly loved them. They also chose emotions over reason, because if they were thinking clearly they would not have done that on a stage in New York with nationals on the line. They just got so caught up in the moment that they couldn’t hide their love for one another. Being a huge Rachel and Finn fan I went ecstatic. I was starting to get a little sweaty during the song because I couldn’t help but feel nervous for them. But then when the romantic kiss occurred, I couldn’t resist myself. I started screaming. In fact, everyone I was in the room with started going nuts. The song just really got to me because it was so heartfelt, but then the kiss put me over the edge. It was so unexpected I didn’t see it coming. The writers of the script really knew how to throw a twist into the episode. I knew it was going to be a monumental episode but didn’t expect that. I feel like I keep repeating myself but I still think about that moment and how crazy it was! This was just a preview for this season since they are still in a relationship. It’s their senior year and the pressure of college is starting to hit them. Their emotions toward each other are raging and they couldn’t contain it any longer. Then it was followed up with the library scene that is a close second in my favorite scenes from the show. It makes me want to be them! Nothing could have been more romantic than that kiss in my eyes.
